What I take on
Five kinds of work. Most projects turn out to be two or three of them at once.

Concert Programs
A program designed for live performances. It could feature anything from a singer, instrumentalist, or small musical group to a full band, including orchestral instruments.

Original Scores
Music composed for film, dance, theater, and cultural projects. I possess strong skills and experience in technology, making this work of paramount importance in today’s world.

Arrangement, orchestration, music writing
Creating arrangements and sample recordings for other artists’ material, as well as music writing.

Production and artistic direction
Production of records/demos and session direction. Sometimes, this evolves into a more extended collaboration with an artist, involving identity and repertoire.

Cultural institutions and programs
Workshops, residencies, and short- to long-term projects with schools, universities, and funded programs.
Technological modernity will serve to assist, not to replace.
Nowadays, the need to be creative, original, and efficient is increasingly important, even if in a very simple way.
The creator of an artistic object would feel far more rewarded by having a unique edge—an inner happiness that gives them the strength and drive to do more.
That is how I view the musical landscape, from the present into the days, months, and years to come.

Agreeing on the approach
I will conduct a quick assessment to present a proposal or to evaluate whether the project already fits into your existing plans.

The work begins
If the project involves phased deliverables, a schedule of delivery dates will be established and followed. Everything will be tailored to your requirements and my availability.

I’m Gui Tavares.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Composition and Conducting from UNICAMP University in São Paulo, and I have been working in London for twenty-three years.
I perform, write, produce recordings and soundtracks, and have an educational and academic career. In practical applications, I also research Brazilian musical traditions, with a focus on anthropology and its connection with other cultures around the world, which is where much of my repertoire comes from.
I also have training in Computer Systems Programming and in Music and Technology, which provided me with knowledge and input for soundtracks, modern music and advertising.
My experience also includes carrying out works in other countries (Brazil, Spain, Italy, Japan, United States of America).
